Every long-term relationship goes through seasons.
Sometimes you’re in sync, communicating easily, laughing often, feeling connected. Other times, even when the love is still there, something feels…off. Conversations feel tense or distant. Conflict gets repetitive. Or the spark that once felt effortless now feels like work.
If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you’re not failing.
It’s just that most of us were never taught how to build a relationship that lasts—one that’s both emotionally safe and deeply satisfying.
That’s exactly what we’ll explore in my upcoming workshop:
The 7 Principles for Making Relationships Work
🗓️ May 17, 2025 | 9AM–3PM ET
📍Live on Zoom
Let’s take a peek into what you’ll learn and why it matters so much.
Why a Workshop for 7 Principles for Making Relationships Work
Whether you’re newly committed or decades into a relationship, there’s always more to learn about each other.
This workshop is rooted in the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, who spent over 40 years studying couples, including what makes them thrive, what causes them to break down, and what helps them grow stronger over time.
From that work came the 7 Principles. These are seven core habits that help couples manage conflict more effectively, foster emotional intimacy, and sustain lasting love.
If you're:
Dating or pre-engaged
Newly married
Long-term partners who feel more like roommates lately
Or even just in need of better communication tools
This workshop was designed for you!
Here’s What We’ll Cover: A Preview of the 7 Principles
This workshop provides attendees with practical, research-backed skills to help them reconnect and maintain a strong connection with your partner. This is true no matter what life throws your way. The seven principles we’ll explore further in our time together include:
1. Building Love Maps
How well do you really know your partner’s inner world? From daily stressors to lifelong dreams, Love Maps help couples maintain curiosity about each other, even years in.
2. Share Fondness and Admiration
Appreciation is one of the most protective things a relationship can have. We’ll discuss how to regularly notice and express fondness.
3. Turn Toward Instead of Away
Connection is built in the small moments. When your partner reaches out, asks a question, shares a story, or sends a silly meme, how you respond matters. We’ll explore how to recognize these bids and respond to them with presence.
4. Let Your Partner Influence You
Healthy relationships are partnerships. That means making room for each other’s ideas, needs, and perspectives, even (and especially) when you disagree. We’ll discuss how mutual influence leads to better decisions and fosters deeper trust.
5. Solve Solvable Problems
Every couple has arguments. The difference is how they handle them. You’ll learn five concrete tools to handle everyday conflicts more productively.
6. Overcome Gridlock
Some conflicts feel stuck because they’re tied to deeper values or dreams. We’ll look at how to understand the root of these recurring issues, how to talk about them calmly, and how to move forward even when the problem itself can’t be "solved."
7. Create Shared Meaning
A great relationship isn’t just about managing life. It’s about sharing it. From tiny rituals to lifelong goals, you’ll explore how to align your values and create a sense of purpose together.
What You’ll Walk Away With
Throughout our time together, you and your partner will be guided through reflection, conversation, and hands-on activities you can keep using long after the workshop ends. This is not a therapy session! It’s a workshop that offers a safe container for learning and coming together around the 7 Principles for Making Relationships Work.
Remember: love isn’t only about finding the right person. It’s about learning how to nurture the relationship you build together.
This workshop gives you the tools to do that with less stress, more clarity, and a whole lot more connection.
So, if your relationship could use a tune-up or even just a dedicated day to reconnect, register for The 7 Principles for Making Relationships Work happening May 17, 2025. The cost is $300 per couple.
